About Us

Waiuku Bed & Breakfast is a relaxing weekend away!

  De-stress and unwind at our Bed and Breakfast in Waiuku. Stay in comfort and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.

Relax in the sauna or spa, knowing you are just a 50min drive away from seeing the sights of Auckland.

We are located on Taurangaruru Road, Waiuku, with three spacious double rooms available for up to six guests.

Our coffee/computer nook is perfect for guests to have some quite time with a coffee, while catching up with any business work that needs to be done.

We are a very active couple, who always enjoy meeting new people and having lived in the Waiuku and Awhitu area for many years, can provide a wealth of information on what to see and do.

Jim & Phyllis have been members of the NZFSA, selling the New Zealand Firefighters Calendar, which allows the New Zealand firefighters the opportunity to proactively fund raise to assist them in their international sporting endeavours, and to raise a substantial amount of money for their principle charity, the 'Child Cancer Foundation'  

Phyllis was a member of rxfitness235 Waiuku and loved the challenge of Crossfit, meanwhile, for Jim to stay fit, he decided to challenge himself and achieved his goal to be the oldest active fire fighter at 80 years to climb the sky tower in full fire fighting kit (25kg) and raise vital funds and awareness for Leukemia & Blood Cancer NZ. (Jim retired from Waiuku Electrical and the Waiuku Brigade after 57 years fire service) 
Jim & Phyllis have been married for 58 years and they have had 3 children and now have 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Their interests over the past years have been orienteering, hiking, fishing, kayaking, Waiuku Christmas Display, Fire Brigade, Sky stair challenge and fund raising for Child Cancer and LBC and Crossfit at Rxfitness Waiuku.

For their next adventure, Jim & Phyllis have bought themselves a Sea Horse Kontiki, for some great fishing at Karioitahi beach.

Jim and Phyllis are looking forward to the opportunity to welcome you to their slice of paradise at Waiuku Bed & Breakfast at 100 Taurangaruru Road Waiuku.

    Had the pleasure of staying at Waiuku Bed & Breakfast in December 2021 whilst attending a Christmas event. Our group were over the moon at both the beauty of the surroundings, room layout and amenities on site. We made use of both the sauna and spa and breakfast was both plentiful and delicious. We would all recommend a stay at this accommodation, you would not be disappointed. Our host Phyllis was the consummate host. She was on hand with answers to our numerous questions and made us all feel very special. We would all recommend spending time at this very special place.

    A bit of heaven in the New Zealand countryside - a perfect spot for some peace and quiet just a brief ride outside of Auckland. The house is modern, smart and tastefully furnished and the rooms have all of the modern modcons. Mornings start with birdsong and are accompanied by great breakfasts (why isn't New Zealand yogurt a style?). Phyllis and Jim are excellent and attentive hosts with deep knowledge of the local scene - ask to see Jim's collection of fire badges that he's accumulated from fire stations around the globe.

    We booked the 3 rooms and I can't say one bad thing, the rooms are amazing the master bedroom has the biggest bed I've ever seen! and great bathrooms. Jim & Phyllis are such great hosts and put on amazing breakfast every morning and coffee. And the house is on such amazing property. We will definitely be coming back again

    Superb accommodation and very very friendly hosts. Perfect location, near town yet in the country. Great place to take a rural walk in the morning or afternoon. Very handy to Kariotahi Beach without having to drive through town. Very comfortable bed and great amenities, very private. Would recommend a stay there to anyone :)

    An amazing weekend getaway!

    Our family had such a wonderful and relaxing time at your stunning home, with nature surrounding your property! We used the incredible sauna & spa, which was the cherry on top! soo.... relaxing. The Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a selection of items and beverages! The Rooms were absolutely beautiful, spacious, luxurious and clean with the comfiest beds and lovely bathrooms. 

    Thank you for the beautiful farm style experience.... One of the best B&Bs you will stay at!

I haven’t slept so well or woken pain free for months and the divine bed and sheets are the most luxurious I’ve had. The accommodation and grounds are stunning, the spa and sauna are amazing, this place is serenity at its finest! But also not to forget the breakfast, this caters for everyone’s needs and is scrumptious. Thank you so much we love staying with you.

    We stayed at this beautiful place while in Waiuku for a close family bereavement. We rang quite late the first night and it was not a problem at all to arrive in the dark, quite stressed and very tired. We stayed for 6 nights. Nothing was an issue. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable at a very sad time. The grounds are beautiful and calming. The spa and sauna were a blessing. The breakfasts are yum. The birds, cows, chickens and bunny rabbits were entertaining. We would not stay anywhere else in Waiuku. Can’t thank them enough. Arohanui Lisa, Adrian and Brady.

    Jim & Phyllis were incredibly welcoming, helpful and even offered to drop us off at Castaway for a wedding celebration. It’s a great rural getaway, the airbnb area is attached to the house but private and spacious. The breakfast was awesome too.

    We stayed for my brothers wedding, and wow what a place! Set in tranquil countryside with roaming chickens and cows! The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds so comfy! The house inside is very well maintained, clean and tidy. The host Phyllis and Jim are wonderful people. They truly make you feel welcome and part of the family. They even brought out their children’s old toys for my 3 year old niece to play with. We were given advice and tips on local attractions and even invited to the local Crossfit gym that Phyllis is a member of, I wish I had brought my gym gear!

    Overall a great stay and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

    Just spent the weekend with Jim and Phyllis while attending my dads 90th. Wow! The property is tranquil, quiet and huge. Our hosts were phenomenal, so welcoming, helpful and so much fun to talk to.... The rooms were way above spectacular! Seriously! The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in and huge, I couldn't find my husband all night!. The whole place was plush with incredible furnishing, linen and food/drink. I actually didn't want to leave. The best accommodation I've ever stayed in. Thank you both so much for having us.

    What a marvellous pace to stay. Jim and Phyll were the nicest hosts, and made us feel like we were members of their own family coming to stay. We were a family of 6, and every one of us loved our stay.
